Accessibility and Accommodations

At SMC, we are committed to ensuring that events are fully accessible and comply with ADA guidelines. We want everyone to feel welcome and included as we celebrate the milestone achievements of the Class of 2025.

For guests who have specific accessibility needs or require accommodations, please complete the Accommodation Request Form at least 30 days prior to any event on the Commencement Schedule. This allows us sufficient time to make appropriate arrangements to ensure your experience is as enjoyable and accessible as possible.

Our event staff are available to assist with directions and additional accommodations. Please do not hesitate to ask us for assistance the day of the event.

Note: There is no need to submit a request for general seating or parking. For Graduands requiring accommodations during other Commencement Event(s), please complete the Accommodation Request Form.

Accessible Seating

There are accessible seating sections for guests who have difficulty walking and/or use a cane, walker, wheelchair or other mobility aid as well as for guests who require sign language interpretation. Guests may bring one (1) additional companion with them into these accessible seating sections.

American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters will be present at the Commencement Liturgy, Undergraduate Commencement and Graduate & Professional Studies Commencement events.

Guests who require ASL interpretation at any other events on the Commencement Schedule are encouraged to complete the Accommodation Request Form at least 30 days prior to any event on the Commencement Schedule.

Restrooms
